Hong Kong’s Love Hotel has been recently chosen as Kung Fu Icon Bruce Lee’s Memorial. Set up ideally at 41 Cumberland Road in the quiet Kowloon Town district of Hong Kong, this famous hotel has never missed attention from the passers-by.

Love Hotel was in fact, the former residence of Bruce Lee, the famous Kung Fu star of Hong Kong. Later it was converted into a hotel offering rooms at a discount rate of 205 Hong Kong dollars. The rooms here offer the best of amenities and are artistically decorated.

Shannon Lee, daughter of Bruce Lee has admitted that the house has been altered over the years after Bruce Lee’s death in 1973. This 40-year old house now has a Japanese style pond at the front and many pets and enough space for exercising. The memories of this hotel will now be treasured and will be open for all in the form of Kung Fu Icon’s Bruce Lee’s Memorial.

Love Hotel has been renovated and now has a museum along with a fully fledged library, cinema and space for martial arts. Many people including, the chairman of the Bruce Lee Club have expressed a desire to preserve the first floor of this hotel as it is to show the visitors how the hotel was when it was Bruce Lee’s home.

After a local design contest, the design of this memorial has been finalized but when will it be ready and who will pay for its construction is still not clear. According to the tourism board, the memorial will attract a number of tourists from around the world. So, let’s wait and watch for this memorial to open soon.
