I was listening to Jlo’s song Love Don’t cost a thing and suddenly this idea came to my mind that money can’t buy happiness. For me it is just very true. The more you go on earning money, the greedier and busier you get with the passage of time. The facilities and amenities that you were affording with your low income will one day get bigger. You, after all, will crave for living a more comfortable and luxurious life than before as now you earn double or even ten times more than before. Ultimately, the things get worsen.

As an instance, I can tell you the story of one of my friends. At first, when his income was very limited and adequate enough to support his daily requirements, he was not thinking much about other amenities. But as he gradually started earning more, his needs started increasing. He first bought a laptop, then a refrigerator, then a TV and lots other things, all on monthly installment basis as he can now think of paying these off. But then, at the end of the month the moment he gets his salary deposited, even though it is much more than before, the amount left after all deduction leaves him feeling miserable only. He even cannot think of an outing with friends and the month ends are still the same, empty handed.

You may at first think that getting a highly paid job means a big bundle of notes at the end of the month and just lots of luxuries of life. If you think that a low paid life is simply monotonous without any happiness in life then I cannot say that you are right. Yes, there is fun but that too is not long lasting. As human needs can never be limited so, a highly paid job and a life full of facilities too will not give you a permanent satisfaction.
